Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain pushchair that provides lightweight durability and great maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold makes it's easy to move and is freestanding when folded. The padded seat reclines to a nearly flat position, and there is a large canopy and storage bin. Baby suitability: Yes, with a separate carrycot (not suitable for sleep over).

A well-constructed suspension and air-filled tires can help you to navigate the rough terrain. You can also use it to jog. However, you must wait until the baby is at minimum 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant choice for parents who want lightweight strollers with added features. It comes as an all-in-one travel system that includes a lie-flat carrycot suitable for infants, a movable forward and rear facing pushchair seat and a selection of a group 0+ car seat, so you can get everything you need in one place.

The XL Air is a really impressive vehicle and it's simple to see why it's been awarded so many praises from customers. It is incredibly lightweight - the wheels and chassis weigh only 6.5kg. It's also very simple to put together. I was able to get it up and running in under five minutes - which is remarkable considering it also includes the fabric for the carrycot to be attached.

The seat is spacious and comfortable for Annie who is 12 months old. The recline lever was easy to use. There's plenty of room in the basket too and I like the fact that it comes with a zip-up compartment in the handle bar so that you can keep your keys and phone secure!

The only issue is that the handlebar is quite low, which could be an issue for parents who are taller. It's covered in soft, supple leather-like material that is easy to wipe down.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is a great choice for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the move. Its large pneumatic wheels were designed to be used on field and forest trails, and the front wheel can be rotated and locked for additional versatility. The stroller also comes with 5-point safety harness with a front bar that keeps your child safe during all journeys. The parking brake will keep the stroller on its feet while you take a rest. The seat can be repositioned to lay flat and the canopy can be opened for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to fit the needs of dad or mum.

The Runner will accompany you on any adventure whether it's a leisurely walk, a longer hike or a long distance trek. It features a completely flat lay-flat seat and suspension air wheels to ensure a smooth ride. The front wheel can be locked for greater stability when walking on narrow streets or busy sidewalks. The stroller can also fold up to fit into car boot spaces and storage areas.

Some parents have reported that the Runner 2 to be a bit harder to navigate than its predecessor and the locking mechanism is less user-friendly (requiring two buttons on the opposite side of the push bar). The handlebars are a bit higher than the ones of other competitors, and therefore may not be suitable for taller parents. However, this stroller is sturdy and a lot of fun, and is worth considering by families with active children.

Red Kite Push Me walking

Red Kite's Pace is a fantastic product from the budget-friendly British brand. They are well-known for their simple, well-designed products that are essentials for parents. It's the latest - and priciest - version of their bargain light stroller line. It as with the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo is car seat compatible so that you can use it from the beginning (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace has some amazing design features, including the rose gold tint of the hood, chassis and stroller trims that truly distinguish it from its competitors. The stroller and car seat fabrics are fashionable in tan, grey and cream. You can also choose to add a leather handle and bumper bar to complement.

The stroller seat can be used from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg. It converts easily into a 2-in-1 reversible position, which is either parent-facing or world-facing. The stroller seat offers multiple lie back positions, comfortable padded leg rests and has an extendable sun canopy with concealed zip sections, a viewing transparent flaps, and an adjustable sun visor.

When folded, the Pace measures 56 x 43cm x 32cm, which makes it suitable for hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. Two buttons on each side are easy to use and click to lock it in the appropriate position.

Bugaboo Fox 5

The idea behind it is to create the ultimate all-terrain pushchair Bugaboo's latest Fox 5 promises to do it all. Its unique chassis, coupled with a shorter wheel-distance makes it more maneuverable than its predecessor. I tested it with my two children one of whom is eight weeks old and the other toddler - on rocky pavements, grassy wooded walks and even cobblestones.

The puncture-proof wheels are big in size - 22cm and a whopping 30cm - so they can cope with all kinds of terrain. The wheels have flaps that can be shut or opened to let air in when required. It's a bit bigger than other pushchairs, but does not feel heavy or bulky when you push it across bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable, and the frame and faux leather grips are simple to wipe down. It's also quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt comfortable using it in busy urban streets. One of the advantages is that it comes with accessory points, which means you can add footmuffs, parasols, changing bags and even a snack tray. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, though it isn't particularly waterproof. It's a single pram but you can add their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child some extra leg room. It took around 20 minutes to set up the bassinet, and the same amount of time to convert it into the seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

No matter if you're enjoying a morning jog under the stars or a moonlit stroll in the crisp air, the UPPAbaby Ridge turns every moment into a fun experience for all. This stroller that is all-terrain designed to keep you and the child engaged.

The huge 12" and 16" foam-filled tires give you an easy ride, regardless of the terrain. The suspension system is patented and allows you to glide effortlessly along woodland paths while minimizing the impact on the legs and back of your child. The handbrake that is designed for performance allows you to quickly stop, even when jogging on an uphill slope.

3 wheeled pushchair  is at home in all city scenes, from bustling farmers' markets to the street musicians performing music. Its large basket is big enough to hold your finds from the market and everything else your baby needs and the spacious canopy provides sun and wind protection. The canopy on the front can be unzipped to reveal two mesh peekaboos, which allow you to monitor your baby.

The Ridge's reversible seats lets you choose whether your child faces you, or the world in front. The simple foot brake system makes it a breeze for parents who are just starting out. The reversible handlebar is fantastic feature that lets you adjust it to suit your height. The Ridge's fold, unlike other jogging strollers is reliable and self-standing when folded.

iCandy Core

iCandy's latest pushchair is truly innovative, with lots of features that are really going to wow parents. It comes with a Multi-Mode Wheelbase and a groundbreaking LED Hub Light, which is a first for the industry. It also features an integrated Ride-on Board which helps save on future costs and makes it simple for a tired toddler to accompany your family on outings.

The Core is available as either a travel system or single seat. It works with most popular car seats, such as those from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It has the largest seat unit of the iCandy line, which means you can use it for your baby's first years and beyond. It's a beautifully designed pushchair that is made of premium knitted fabric. The child's bumper bar as well as the parent's adjustable handlebar are made of soft leatherette. The fold-away calf supports are also extremely comfortable for children.

I was awed by the ease of fold and collapse it only takes one hand, even with the seat unit in place. It's also easily tucked away in your boot and hallway making it ideal for travelling. The iCandy Core comes with lots of additional accessories, including a rucksack with a color match and footmuff/liner.
